Small Scale Residential Architecture Projects

We have experience in loft conversions and house extensions in Bristol, Bath, and Beyond! From garage conversions, to single story extensions, kitchen extensions, and bungalow conversions, our expertise is maximising potential or being creative with your existing space. This comes in the form of internal alterations, with a rise in demand for home office conversions and a desire to modernise kitchen, living and bathroom spaces.

Our experience is not just within the boundaries of the home, we have extensive knowledge of building in outdoor spaces, with garden rooms becoming a popular way to add space to a property. We see the garden as an important aspect of a home so we take care in also designing this space to suit your lifestyle.





                     

House in Multiple Occupation (HMO)

In Bristol, and other cities with a large student population, HMO conversions are common. You can convert a C3 home to C4 up to six bedrooms (subject to local constraints) without formal planning permission. Anything above this size will be classed as Sui Generis and will need a more nuanced approach. Our team have successfully designed and developed many HMO projects in the area.




                     

Commercial to Residential Conversions

Planning laws have been relaxed to allow conversion of commercial buildings. There are many high streets throughout the South West of England where we have worked on the development of existing commercial premises to residential.

However commercial property has historically been built for uses which are not conducive to residential purpose. Our expertise on these projects is to maximise value for developers whilst creating high quality, well designed, living spaces through reconfiguration of the existing building.




                     

Small Residential Development

From single family dwellings to small residential sites of up to 10 dwellings, we like the challenge of utilising space and maximising potential as much as possible. This is also why we like to work on infill developments and brownfield sites, making the most of unused and underutilised land. We find that these projects are very sustainability focused, so we make sure to consider green materials and construction methods as much as possible throughout the design process.




                     

Victorian Property

Working with the Victorian property in Bristol and Bath can have constraints. Often, these buildings can be protected or listed, so work has to be done carefully and within constraints of the existing footprint. These are challenges that we enjoy, incorporating modern solutions in to historic structures.
