WANA designed and obtained the necessary permissions for a single storey rear extension to replace an existing outrigger in Knowle, Bristol. Utilising the existing party wall structures, a timber framed structure was dropped in and finished in charred larch to provide a visually distinctive addition to the existing red brick dwelling. A large overhang on the flat roof provides solar shading and the rear fenestration slides to open the kitchen/diner space into a new sunken courtyard.

We designed a modest rear extension and subsequent internal alterations to this large property near the Downs, Bristol. The existing property was unchanged from its Arts andCrafts origins, therefore the layout was segregated and very much of its time. The client enlisted WANA to open up the kitchen/dining spaces. Through a small intervention to the rear, we created a real wow factor to this space. The curved corner and bifolding windows offer the perfect counterpoint to the existing dwelling, whilst paying respect to its roots.

Designed and obtained the necessary permissions for a single storey infill extension and refurbishment of a Victorian terrace property in Knowle, Bristol. A glazed infill extension flooded the new kitchen/dining space with natural light whilst reworking the existing single storey extension into a seating area. The addition of a glazed corner window provides a quiet space for contemplation. The decor is contemporary, yet of its time, to add a consistent thread throughout the property.

WANA designed and obtained the necessary permissions for a single storey infill extension and refurbishment of a Victorian terrace property in Bishopsworth, Bristol. A contemporary flat roof infill extension was fitted with a large roof light to flood the new kitchen/dining space with natural light and a new picture window frames views to the courtyard garden. The interior was left as a canvas to take on its own personality using the clients’ passion and skill for design and craftsmanship.
